Oriental’s 2016 Ol’ Front Porch Music Festival kicks off at The Old Theater, 609 Broad St., on Friday evening, Oct. 14, with a special showing of the documentary film, Down from the Mountain, about the musical artists who performed the songs in the Coen Brothers’ film O Brother, Where Art Thou? On Saturday, Oct. 15, the Main Festival begins at 10 am with musical groups and performers playing from the porches of 22 homes and businesses around the Village of Oriental. More than 30 groups and performers will rotate among the porches until 3 pm. At 3:30 pm, the Main Stage act, The Carmonas, of Nashville, will perform across from Lou Mac Park at the Neuse River.
